Mecano [NL] The half inch universe

De Nederlandse band Mecano bestond van 1978 tot 1983. Het was geen popgroep in de gebruikelijke zin van het woord, maar meer een ‘collectief’ dat zich ook richtte op schilderkunst en literatuur. In de beginjaren werd hun new wave muziek nog sterk beïnvloed door Engelse bands als Joy Division . Later kreeg de band een meer Europees geluid. Op de dubbel-cd The Half Inch Universe staan alle studiotracks die de band ooit heeft opgenomen, aangevuld met enkele nooit eerder uitgebrachte live-versies. Uniek Nederpop-document! (MvP)
