Ook in Nederland kennen we de dj’s van de Britse omroep: John Peel en Gilles Peterson van radiozender BBC Radio 1 zijn ook hier beroemde figuren, die regelmatig eigen cd’s uitbrachten/-brengen. Ook Radio 2-dj Dermont O’Leary – een wat minder bekende naam – heeft nu een cd uitgebracht met sessies die in zijn programma werden opgenomen. En het zijn niet de minste artiesten die op de vroege zaterdagavond bijzondere covers of hun grootste hits speelden. Zo zijn o.a. Mika, Manic Street Preachers, Paul Weller, James Morrison en Massive Attack te horen en vertolkt Lily Allen haar versie van Everybody’s Changing (Keane), Willy Mason doet Careless Whisper (George Michael), Camera Obscura Abba’s Super Trouper en waagt Athlete zich aan God Only Knows van The Beach Boys.
