Album

Na het uiteenvallen van The Jam formeert Paul Weller begin 1983 samen met toetsenist Mick Talbot (ex-Dexy's Midnight Runners) en de toen 17-jarige drummer Steve White The Style Council. De groep werkt verder met diverse gastmuzikanten en -vocalisten, onder wie Tracy Thorn en Dee C. Lee. Aanvankelijk laat de groep een op de jaren zestig soul gebaseerd geluid horen, dat later plaats maakt voor een verzameling van stijlen, variërend van funk, swing tot jazz.
