Beau Hunks, The On to the show!

The Beau Hunks is een Nederlands orkest dat zich heeft gespecialiseerd in het vertolken van oude filmmuziek uit de jaren twintig en dertig. Omdat zij gebruik maken van vooroorlogse opnametechnieken en instrumenten klinkt hun muziek heel authentiek. Voor hun vertolkingen van de muziek uit de Laurel & Hardy-films werden zij in 1993 onderscheiden met een Edison. Op On The Show speelt het orkest muziek en tunes van bekende films uit de jaren dertig, onder meer van Laurel & Hardy-films. Al deze muziek werd gecomponeerd door Leroy Shields (1893 - 1962) en werd door leden van het orkest noot voor noot opgeschreven van de originele soundtracks. Ook werd gebruik gemaakt van in de archieven van de Hal Roach studio's teruggevonden authentieke bladmuziek .
