Het album "With a little help from my friends" van gitarist Larry Carlton werd in 1969 voor het eerst uitgebracht. In 1968 werd Larry verkozen tot 'meest succesvolle solo-gitarist' in de California Big Band Contest. Nu wordt zijn muziek beschouwd als easy tune. Op het album staan covers van o.a. "MacArthur Park", "Monday monday" en "With a little help from my friends".
