Robert Schumann Concerto en la mineur op. 129

Album

Op het label Lyrinx verscheen een cd van de Noorse cellist Truls Mork en het Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo onder leiding van Michel Tabachnik met twee klassiekers uit het cellorepertoire: het "Celloconcert op.129" van Schumann en het "Celloconcert op.85" van Elgar. Schumann schreef zijn concert in 1850, toen hij juist benoemd was als dirigent te Düsseldorf. Vijf jaar later werd het concert, dat Schumann in slechts twee weken had gecomponeerd, opnieuw ter hand genomen. Het celloconcert van Elgar, dat in 1919 in première ging in de Queen's Hall te Londen, is het laatste grote werk van deze Britse componist. (H.J.)_
