Op school formeerde Rudolf Schenker zijn eerste rock 'n roll band in Hannover. Daaruit zouden in 1969 The Scorpions ontstaan. Basis voor hun muziek zou worden stevige rock, die boven de saaie middle-of-the-road-muziek zou moeten uitstijgen. Dit is te horen op het overzicht Deadly Sting waarop songs staan als Loving You Sunday Morning en Another Piece Of Meat waarmee ze groot succes kregen en ook Amerika veroverden.
