Michael Praetorius In dulci jubilo

Album

Michael Praetorius (circa 1571 - 1621) wordt gezien als de leidende componist van zijn generatie met betrekking tot de protestantse kerkmuziek in Duitsland. Praetorius was o.a. werkzaam als componist en organist. Op deze cd zijn koraalmotetten opgenomen, bestemd voor Advent, Kerstmis en Epifanie. De melodieën zijn ons nog steeds bekend: "Wachet auf ruft uns die Stimme", "Nun komm der Heiden Heiland", "In dulce jubilo" en "Vom Himmel hoch da komm ich her". De zettingen worden mooi gezongen door The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge o.l.v. Richard Marlow.
