Op woensdag 11 juli 2001 sprong Herman Brood van het dak van het Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam. Enkele weken later scoorde hij postuum zijn eerste nummer één hit met My Way. In oktober 2001 verscheen onder die naam al een greatest hits-cd en nauwelijks een maand later is er My Way - The Box. Via 92 songs op vier cd's wordt een zeer compleet overzicht gegeven van de carrière van deze rock 'n' roll junkie. Maar liefst zeventien tracks zijn nooit eerder op cd uitgebracht, waaronder vier liedjes uit 1975 van de band Vitesse, waarvan Brood korte tijd zanger was. Ook zijn Nederlandstalige carnavals-hitje met De Breedbekkikkers (Maak Van Uw Scheet Een Donderslag) is dit keer niet vergeten. Samen met de mooie foto's in het zeer uitgebreide boek is My Way - The Box een prachtige compilatie geworden en een waardig eerbetoon aan één van de grootste rockhelden die Nederland ooit gehad heeft.
