De Britse sopraan Lesley Garrett wil de opera toegankelijk maken voor iedereen. Vandaar dat de programma's op haar solocd's tot nu toe bestonden uit een ratjetoe van klassieke en lichtklassieke stukken. Zo ook op haar nieuwe cd "I will wait for you", waarop bijvoorbeeld "Night and day" (Porter) en "La vie en rose" (Piaf) gecombineerd worden met "Tornami a vagheggiar" (Händel) en "Ständchen" (Schubert). Gasten zijn de tenor Ramón Vargas, de Grimethorpe Colliery RJB Band en Ladysmith Black Mambazo. In het tekstboekje staat achtergrondinformatie over ieder gezongen stuk. Kort, bondig en leuk. Dit geeft wel aan dat Garrett serieus genomen moet worden in haar ideaal. Het is niet zomaar een commerciële stunt. Deze cd toont liefde en respect voor zowel het klassieke als het lichte repertoire.
