De Canadese band Rush speelt al sinds het begin van de jaren zeventig hun eigen unieke mix van blues, progrock en symfonische metal. Naar aanleiding van hun sterke comeback-cd Vapor Trails (2002) is nu de verzamelaar The Spirit Of Radio verschenen. Die titel is trouwens een tikje cynisch bedoeld, want grote (radio)hits heeft de band nooit gehad. Naast het titelnummer bevat het album o.a. de publieksfavorieten 2112 Ouverture/The Temples Of Syrinx, Closer To The Heart, Freewill, Tom Sawyer, New World Man en Distant Early Warning.
