De New-Yorkse noiserockformatie Sonic Youth maakte met het door Butch Vig (Garbage, Nirvana) geproduceerde Dirty (1992) het toegankelijkste album in haar bestaan. De dissonante gitaarstemmingen werden ditmaal losgelaten op redelijk conventionele rocksongs als Sugar Kane en 100%. Het album wordt elf jaar na dato opnieuw uitgebracht in een fraaie hoes, met acht b-kantjes en elf opnames uit de repetitiefase. (MS)
