Concert d'Astrée, Le Une fête baroque!

Album

Op 19 december 2011 gaf het Concert D’Astrée een benefiet galaconcert ter gelegenheid van zijn tienjarig jubileum. Het orkest en dirigent Emmanuelle Haïm worden gewaardeerd; dat blijkt wel uit het grote aantal topzangers dat zich voor de gelegenheid beschikbaar stelde: Natalie Dessay, Philippe Jaroussky, Rolando Villazón, Anne Sofie von Otter, Patricia Petibon en ga zo maar door... Natuurlijk valt niet te verwachten dat bij zo’n eenmalige gelegenheid de muzikale uitvoering vlekkeloos verloopt. Ook de opnamekwaliteit is niet optimaal, maar een barok feestje is het zeker geworden. Het ene hoogtepunt volgt de ander op. Je hoort het publiek genieten en soms in de lach schieten. Helaas is op cd niet altijd op te maken waarom, maar je snapt de lol als Patricia Petibon in haar coloratuurimprovisatie plotseling voor een jazzy wending zorgt. Het tweede en grootste gedeelte van het programma is gewijd aan Händel wat eigenlijk jammer is, want Haïm dirigeert de werken van Rameau met zoveel verve dat je er geen genoeg van krijgt. Kortom een album die zijn naam eer aandoet. (CP)
