Iedereen die Johan Derksen wel eens op televisie zag, weet dat hij vernietigend kan zijn in zijn oordeel. Verwende profvoetballers, levensliedzangers en ijdele ‘lokale notabelen’: allemaal krijgen ze onder uit de zak van een foeterende Derksen. Iedereen die Derksen beter kent, weet dat hij ook liefdevol kan spreken over mensen. Vooral miskende muzikanten die moeten sappelen om media-aandacht hebben een streepje voor bij hem. Zo ontstond het idee voor Derksen On The Road, een tv-programma waar Johan Derksen bij Nederlandse muzikanten op de koffie ging met het doel hun levensverhalen bekend te maken bij een breder publiek. Onder hen zangers als Rudy Bennett (The Motions), de Betuwse countryman Dick van Altena, meestergitarist Jan de Hont en Theo van Es van The Shoes. Dit pakket verzamelt de acht uitzendingen en verzamelt de mooiste nummers van de gemoreerde artiesten op twee cd’s. Inclusief uitgebreide liner notes met veel, jawel, lieve woorden van Johan Derksen.
