De Amerikaanse gitarist en singer-songwriter Steve Miller maakte in de jaren 60 deel uit van de hippe San Francisco-scene. Hij brak begin jaren 70 pas echt door met classic rocksongs als The Joker, Fly Like An Eagle en Abracadabra. Op de prachtig vormgegeven boxset Welcome To The Vault staan die succesnummers, maar het biedt vooral een schat aan outtakes en bijzonder live-materiaal. De drie cd’s en dvd tonen daarnaast dat Steve Miller altijd een blues muzikant in hart en nieren bleef. (MR)
