Of het nu gaat om elektrische fusion, wereldmuziek of barok, trompettist Eric Vloeimans weet er zijn stemmige trompetspel aan te verbinden. Op Joyful Noise gaat hij een samenwerking aan met het koperseptet Ravelli Brass dat bestaat uit leden van Het Gelders Orkest. De composities die Vloeimans schreef en arrangeerde verbinden barok aan fanfaremuziek en jazz. Hoewel er soms naar vrijheid gezocht wordt, blijft dat statig klinken, als een kopergezelschap dat plechtig door de straten trekt. (MR)
