W.E. Saris | L.H. Stronkhorst Causal modelling in nonexperimental research
an introduction to the LISREL approach
Gedrukt boek
Analysis of variance has become a major tool for causal analyses in experimental research. Covariance structure analysis is increasingly taking this place in the nonexperimental sciences. Apart from the data analysis itself, the specification of models play a very important role in this approach. This book introduces both aspects of covariance structure analysis. In doing so an effort is made to link up the older path analysis approach which the new and more powerful LISREL approach. All of the relevant aspects of the approach are covered at an introductory level. The prior level of mathematical or statistical knowledge is very limited (knowledge of some descriptions is convenient, but no matrix algebra is required). The procedures are illustrated by concrete data analyses using the LISREL computer program, but the text does not depend on the use of this particular program
